There&#8217;s a laid-back, if not shaggy and drunk, charm to the whole thing, but also some real pathos in Reynolds&#8217; performance, which was one of his best.<\/li>\n<ul><\/ul>\n<li>You can see its twists coming a mile away, and there&#8217;s more than a little cheesiness to the whole thing, but despite that\u2014or maybe because of it\u2014<a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0096152\/\">Spellbinder<\/a> is an enjoyable enough little supernatural thriller.<\/li>\n<ul><\/ul>\n<li>I had been led to believe that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0450314\/\">Punisher: War Zone<\/a> was the <em>good<\/em> Punisher movie, but honestly, I&#8217;m just not seeing it. It&#8217;s such a vague gesture at a movie, not even silly fun.<\/li>\n<ul><\/ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt12789558\/\">Belfast<\/a> doesn&#8217;t dig especially deep into its narrative or characters, but it&#8217;s affectionate and well acted.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I also really enjoyed a rewatch of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0265666\/\">The Royal Tenenbaums<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Another week, another six movies: They don&#8217;t make a lot of movies like Hooper anymore, partly because they don&#8217;t make a lot of movies the way they make movies in Hooper anymore.
