In my defense, a good few of them are children&#8217;s books, including <i>Where&#8217;s Waldo<\/i>, which <a href=\"http:\/\/solonor.com\/bannedbooks\/archives\/001808.html\">was challenged<\/a>, apparenlty, because &#8220;on some of the pages there are dirty things.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Links courtesy, directly or indirectly, of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.neilgaiman.com\/journal\/2004\/09\/beware-of-bookmark.asp\">Neil Gaiman<\/a>, who leads me to think that maybe it&#8217;s high time somebody <i>did<\/i> write &#8220;a book about naked, bisexual, hard-swearing wizards who drink a lot while disparaging the Second Amendment&#8221;, dangnabbit.<\/font><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I realize, with some dismay, that I&#8217;ve read maybe ten of the 100 most frequently challenged books of 1990\u00e2\u20ac\u201c2000.
