A quiet day. Not that yesterday wasn’t, really, but at least today was relatively free of health problems.<\/p>\n

I had my weekly writing group and wrote this:<\/p>\n

The city below them lay in ruins, or at least it did from the vantage of command, where the smoldering rubble flickered in the static of the ship\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s main viewscreens.<\/p>\n

Sighing heavily, Tendall said, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Thirty-seven. Even if we push the engines to the breaking point, we won\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t be back in same-time for another day and a half.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n

\u00e2\u20ac\u0153So we\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll miss being concurrent with the disaster?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Bergen asked.<\/p>\n

\u00e2\u20ac\u0153That\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s assuming it happens, ma\u00e2\u20ac\u2122am,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Tendall said. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153But yes. I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m afraid if these images are<\/i> the future, we won\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t exit the probability stream in time to prevent this disaster from happening. Or even to ascertain its cause, most likely.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n

After a few relative-centuries, I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m afraid it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s an occupational hazard. If I let not being able to do anything about it bother me, I couldn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t pilot the ship.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d He offered her a smile which he knew she would not return. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153I suppose that\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s why time-flight isn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t recommended for you folks in the core.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
