I recently re-watched the "Time Crash," the Children in Need special with Davison reprising his role of the Doctor opposite Tennant. So Davison's earlier episodes seemed like as good a place as any to start. I think I had it in mind to watch through them all eventually, although I'm still only two episodes in. They can be very difficult to get into, very slowly paced, and very obviously made on the cheap. Which is sort of a shame, because there are some really cool things going on in some of them. (Davies and Moffat discuss this at some length, actually, on the recent commentary for "Forest of the Dead." They're huge Who fanboys, but even they recognize that the older show was not without its significant flaws.)

I did quite like Stratford Johns' Monarch in "Four to Doomsday."

The first couple of Peter Davison episodes, to be specific.

Ah, cool! I have a special place in my heart for "Castrovalva." (Of course, I also have an M.C. Escher print hanging in my bedroom, so this fact is really not too surprising. :))

Also, I wholeheartedly agree with the sentiment in this post, even if I still haven't seen that Discovery Channel commercial.

I hadn't seen that commercial before and I did get a kick out of it. Didn't watch it for hours, but I'll admit to multiple viewings. I find the Mythbuster guys lighting each other on fire rather entertaining...

Although I think the song is now in my head for life.
